Our Premium Protection package provides extensive coverage with zero excess. For additional peace of mind, our Standard Protection package (SCDW) lowers your excess and covers key areas like windows, tires, and gravel damage.
In addition to the Premium Protection package, we also provide a Standard Protection package (SCDW) which can significantly lower your excess in case of any damage. This SCDW covers common areas of concern such as windows, tires, and gravel.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - Included
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included in your rental and provides essential protection for the vehicle during your rental period. It covers damage to the rental car’s body caused by accidents, as well as theft of the vehicle.
This protection package also includes Theft Protection (TP) and Third Party Liability (TPL). Theft Protection covers the loss of the rental vehicle if it is stolen. Third Party Liability provides coverage for damage or injury you may cause to other people or their property while driving the rental car.
With CDW, your financial liability for damage to the vehicle is limited to a fixed excess of EUR 2.700, whether you rent a 2WD or 4WD vehicle. This means that if the car is damaged or stolen, you are only responsible for repair or replacement costs up to this amount.
A credit card in the driver’s name must be presented at pickup to confirm the rental agreement. No deposit is required when renting with us.
Customers who hold valid third-party rental insurance can choose to decline the CDW coverage by simply notifying our employee upon pick-up.
Example: If the rental car is damaged in a minor collision during your trip and the repair cost is EUR 3.500, your responsibility would be limited to EUR 2.700 and the remaining cost would be covered under the CDW.
Standard Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW)
Standard Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) adds extra protection to your rental, designed for the real driving conditions in Iceland.
It builds on the basic protection already included: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Theft Protection (TP), and Third Party Liability (TPL)—and adds essential coverage for the parts of the car most exposed to everyday risks: the windshield, tyres and wheels, and gravel damage to the bodywork.
Even careful drivers often encounter loose gravel, strong winds, or rough surfaces outside main roads. SCDW helps you stay protected against these common, unexpected events.
Your financial liability is limited to EUR 600 for small cars and EUR 750 for larger vehicles, no deposit is required, and only a valid credit card in the driver’s name is needed at pickup.
Choosing SCDW gives many travelers greater confidence, knowing that a cracked windshield or a damaged tyre won’t turn into a major cost during their journey.

Premium Collision Damage Waiver (PCDW)
Premium Protection is designed for travelers who want to experience Iceland with complete freedom and peace of mind. It offers the highest level of rental car protection, allowing you to focus fully on creating your own Saga across Iceland’s extraordinary landscapes.
Premium Protection extends the coverage beyond what is included with the Standard Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW). In addition to windshield, tyre, and gravel protection, it also covers Sand and Ash damage (SAAP)—a risk unique to Iceland that can cause significant repair costs—as well as Undercarriage damage, which is especially valuable when driving on uneven or gravel roads, and any roadside assistance you might need with the Roadside Assistance waiver (RAW).
With Premium Protection, your financial liability is reduced to zero. There is no excess to pay in case of damage or theft, giving you the freedom to explore without the worry of unexpected expenses.
No deposit is required, and you may present either a valid credit card or debit card in the driver’s name at pickup.
